Blow Molding Mold Product Classification
Blow molding molds play a vital role in the plastic processing industry. They can process thermoplastics into hollow products of various shapes and sizes. Our blow molding mold products cover multiple categories to meet the diverse needs of different customers.
1. Classification by blow molding process type
(I) Extrusion blow molding mold
Features: Suitable for continuous production of a large number of hollow plastic products of the same specifications. The material is plasticized by the extruder and extruded into a tubular parison, and then blown in the mold. This mold structure is relatively simple and low in cost. It is often used to produce daily necessities such as plastic bottles, barrels, and containers.
Application areas: food packaging industry (beverage bottles, edible oil barrels, etc.), daily chemical product packaging (shampoo, shower gel bottles, etc.), chemical product packaging (plastic barrels).
(II) Injection blow molding mold
Features: Combines the advantages of injection molding and blow molding. First, a parison with a bottom is manufactured by injection molding, and then the parison is transferred to the blow molding mold for blow molding. This mold can produce products with high dimensional accuracy, uniform wall thickness, and good appearance quality, but its equipment and mold costs are relatively high.
Application areas: pharmaceutical packaging (medicine bottles), high-end cosmetic packaging, high-end beverage bottles (such as some glass-textured plastic bottles).
2. Classification by product shape
(I) Bottle blow molding mold
Round bottle mold: widely used in the packaging of various liquid products, such as beverages, condiments, alcohol, etc. The mold design focuses on the accuracy and sealing performance of the bottle mouth thread, as well as the appearance finish and wall thickness uniformity of the bottle body to ensure the stability and safety of the bottle during filling, transportation and storage.
Square bottle mold: has unique advantages in the packaging of some special products, such as cosmetics, skin care products, etc. Square bottles are more attractive on shelf displays. The mold design needs to consider the molding difficulty and strength of the square corners to ensure that the corners can be fully molded and not easily deformed during the blow molding process.
Special-shaped bottle mold: customized according to the customer's specific product design needs, such as perfume bottles with unique shapes, art ornament containers, etc. The design and manufacture of this type of mold requires a high degree of innovation and exquisite craftsmanship to achieve precise molding of complex shapes while meeting the functional and aesthetic requirements of the product.
(II) Blow molding molds for barrels
Small barrel molds (5-25 liters): mainly used for the storage and transportation of liquid or granular materials in household, commercial and industrial fields, such as paint barrels, lubricating oil barrels, food raw material barrels, etc. The mold design focuses on the strength and sealing of the barrel body, as well as the installation structure of accessories such as handles or barrel lids.
Large barrel molds (more than 25 liters): commonly used for large-capacity material packaging in industries such as chemical, agricultural, and environmental protection, such as chemical raw material barrels, trash cans, and water storage barrels. Due to the large volume of the product, the mold structure is more complex, and the strength of the mold, the efficiency of the cooling system, and the convenience of demolding need to be considered to ensure the smooth progress of the production process and the stability of product quality.
(III) Blow molding molds for containers
Thin-wall container molds: used to produce containers with thinner walls, such as disposable tableware, food cling film boxes, etc. This type of mold requires precise control of the thickness and inflation ratio of the parison to ensure that the container reduces the material cost as much as possible while ensuring strength, while meeting the requirements of lightweight and environmental protection.
Thick-wall container mold: suitable for containers that need to withstand high pressure or have special protection requirements, such as high-pressure gas cylinders, industrial protective barrels, etc. The focus of mold design is to ensure the uniform distribution of materials and internal quality at the thick wall, prevent defects such as shrinkage holes and bubbles, and consider the cooling and demolding methods of the mold to avoid product deformation or damage caused by shrinkage stress.
3. Classification by the number of mold cavities
(I) Single-cavity blow molding mold
Features: One product is molded at a time, the mold structure is simple, the design and manufacturing cycle is short, and the cost is low. It is suitable for product trial production, small batch production or occasions with extremely high requirements for product precision and quality, because single-cavity molds can better control the molding process parameters of each product.
Application scenarios: Production of some high-end customized products, such as limited edition perfume bottles, special-shaped craft containers, etc., as well as sample production in the new product research and development stage.
(II) Multi-cavity blow molding mold
Dual-cavity and four-cavity molds: To a certain extent, the production efficiency is improved, while relatively maintaining good product quality consistency. It is suitable for plastic products produced in medium batches, such as common beverage bottles, daily chemical product bottles, etc. The design of this type of mold needs to consider the balance of feeding and uniformity of cooling systems between multiple cavities to ensure that the quality of products produced by each cavity is similar.
Eight-cavity and above molds: Mainly used for mass-produced standardized plastic products, such as mineral water bottles, plastic barrels, etc. Multi-cavity molds can significantly improve production efficiency and reduce the production cost per unit product, but mold design and manufacturing are difficult, and require high clamping force, injection volume and control system of the equipment.
